interactive magazine so your input is very much appreciated. If you

Hi all,
This message is written to announce the changes the new ImagicaMUD version
has that is going online tonight.
- Weapon damage :
All weapons and objects (armor etc.) are suceptible to damage. You
can repair items at shops that usually buy them, or you can
'mend' them using the correspondig skill.
- Weapon type skills :
In the near future (within a week from today) it will be nececary to
have practiced the corresponding weapon skill to be able to use a
type of weapon sucessfully. This also incorporates that some weapons
will be useless to some classes.
- No more autoleveling :
To enhance role-playing, it has been decided to remove the autoleveling
and change it so that you will have to go to 'a' guildmaster to check
if you can level.
- New spells, skills, etc. :
The new Imagica version has a whole brand new spell/skill system which
makes the MUD way more flexible. Due to this mayor change you will find
that using 'spells' etc. is not that boring anymore. Every class has
it's own spell/skill versions, and also mostly another way to invoke
them. (check the helpfile on that).
- Portal limitation :
The portal spell has been severly limited to enchance the exploration
factor. You can now only portal to 'know' places which you can recognise
by the 'runes' that are in a room. Be aware though, there is a chance
your portal will 'warp' and you will end up in another place than you
expecting to.
- New helpfile :
There is a completely new helpfile installed which covers about 99% of
all new and old commands and functionality.
- New races :
There are 3 more races in the new version : Ogre's, Lizardmen and Pixies.
Read the racehelp from the creation menu to see what the advantages and
disadvantages are.
In addition to all this a lot of bugs were fixed and the possibilities for
builders have been greatly expanded to provide you with even more playing
pleasures.
Note: Becoming immortal automaticly is also no longer possible. Instead the
highest possible level to gain is the HERO level. Once on this level you
will be able to gain even more experience and rise in status. You will also
be able to become clan-representatives and town-mayor or (in the furture)
you will even be able to rule complete zones! I you want to become Immortal
in Imagica you will have to to something for it. This can be builder, questor
spell/skill inventor etc. Please apply to such a function by contacting
someone of the Imp team (levels 97 and up). This change will incorporate
that some immortals become mortal again. They will be able to get back their
mortal homes and some money to get back on track.
I hope you all understand that these changes are all done to make it more
fun to play Imagica, and I hope you will keep playing this advanced MUD.

Houses / Rents
These are the rules for buying a house in Imagica.
Imagica offers the players the possibility to buy a house and exchange
the daily rent costs for the monthly house payments. Paying monthly will,
in long terms, free you from paying a lot of money per object per day.
This means that you will pay only for your house and once a month.
Not paying this payment will result in warnings and finally in loosing
your house. And of course, abusing the system with for example keeping
four Diamond Edged Swords in your house will not be tolerated.
Houses are currently placed in Dinostreet Teldar, but there are plans in
which other hometowns will be open for new houses later on.
Procedures for buying a house
1. Contact the rent-master (Dani) and the Assistant Master Builder (Random),
and tell them you want to buy a house.
2. Pay the house buying-fee (10.000 gold for two rooms) to the rent-master,
and send a house description to the AMB (Assistant Master Builder). The
description may be of two rooms each with a maximum of 4 extra descriptions
(look closet, look wall, etc.).
3. Wait for the AMB to build the house and get word of your payment, so
that he can activate it for you. Only after you get word of a High God that
your house is activated you can use it. NOT BEFORE. Your house being in the
mud is not always the same as having it as a working house.
4. Pay the montly rents every month.
There is a limitation of 30 objects per house, this is to keep the
balance in the game and there is a minimum level of 30.
Also i want to make sure that you know that, houses cannot be build as
soon as you ask for it. As with other points, High Gods are busy poeple,
they dont have time (working) to build houses all day long. But the AMB will
do his best to create them as fast as he can.
Also, a married couple can buy a house with one extra room, 1 for each
person and 1 extra room in which they can make a living room or whatever
they want. Some poeple might want to build a zone around their house,
they can do so but get only 3 rooms in the zone for which their house is.
The rest of this zone is public teritorie around their house.
The current costs:
House buying = 10.000 gold for 2 rooms
Married couple = 15.000 gold (3 rooms)
Rent payment per month = 4.000 gold
Married couple = 6.000 gold (3 rooms)
